Bedside teaching has been defined as,
“a part of clinical rounds where both student
and instructor attends the patient’s bedside
to discuss the case and/ or demonstrate a
clinical procedure.” (Wojtczak, 2003)
It provides students with the opportunity to
see first-hand how a doctor relates to a
patient and to receive supervised instruction
and experience of interviewing a patient,
physical examination, communication and
counselling skills.
